Abstract:

We will examine state-of-the-art bioluminescent and fluorescent methods for assessing cell viability, cytotoxicity and apoptosis.
The ability to collect data through different assay methods naturally leads to multiplexing assays typically with a non-lytic fluorescent assay followed by a lytic bioluminescent assay. Assay methods which allow assessment of all three parameters at once or simply viability and apoptosis will be highlighted. The utility of measuring cell health in the context of a reporter assay will also be examined. Finally, we will explore tips and techniques that ensure accurate data collection from any cell-based assay or multiplexed cell-based assays.
