Annual Price Adjustment

Print

Thank you for your continuous support over the past years. We hope our services have supported your research well.

Annually we review our cost and make adjustments to our pricing due to changes in operating cost. We understand everyone’s financial constraint and thus have always aimed at offering the best value to you.

Adjustments are minimal this year and you may find our new prices on our website, effective 1-May-2012.

We look forward to becoming an integral part of your research. Please contact us for any research need that you might have. We will try our best to help!

CLC Genomics Workbench Software

Print

We are pleased to announce the launch of CLC Genomics Workbench software to assist users in analysing next generation sequencing (NGS) data. The software is currently installed on a dedicated Mac Pro with 2 x Quad core running at 2.8Ghz, 8 Gb of RAM and 30” inch of Apple Cinema Display.

Software tutorial session is available to help you get started.

Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) Latest Updates

Print

The CGS continues to host 3 different NGS-related instruments, of which 2 are for sequencing and 1 for target enrichment.

LOW COST trial runs are ready to start in March 2012.

We accept BOTH customized collaborative or standard core service work!

And YES, we would gladly provide bioinformatics support as well!

What are the 3 instruments?

Genome Analyzer IIx GS FLX Titanium XLR70 RDT 1000
Solexa Genome Analyzer
Solexa 454 RainDance
by Illumina by Roche by RainDance
Sequencing By Synthesis Pyrosequencing Microdroplet-based PCR amplification
Read length up to 150 bp Mode read length ~ 450 bp Amplicon size 500-1500bp
Up to 20,000 PCR in a single tube
Data output depends on run type

1 x 35 bp = 10-12 G bases / run
2 x 150 bp = 85-95 G bases / run

(and variable in-between)
Typical data output

450 M bases / run
Target amplified region 10Kb - 10Mb
7 samples / run
(without indexing)
2/4/8/16 samples / run
(without indexing)
1 sample / run
Run time 2-14 days Run time 10 hours Run time <1 hr
(for microdroplet mixing)

Which sequencer is suitable for my work?

Application Solexa 454 What Might Be Your Questions?
Exome sequencing +++ + Are there novel mutations in the exonic sequences?
RNA-seq +++ + What genes are differentially expressed in my samples?

Are there different splicing patterns between my samples?
ChIP-seq +++ + What sequences do my protein binds to?
de novo whole genome sequencing +++ +++ How does the genome of this organisim look like?
Resequencing +++ ++ What are the sequence differences between my isolate of bacteria/virus/plasmid compare to the common strains?
Metagenomics + +++ What micro-organisms are present in this environmental sample?

What are the different virus strains in this culture?
MicroRNA profiling +++ - What microRNAs are expressed, or differentially expressed in my samples?
Methylation analysis +++ - Which sites are methylated in the genome?

Is the methylation pattern different between my samples?
